Palliser Estate is in the Martinborough region Pinot Noir at the very south of New Zealand’s North Island. Martinborough is a region that is increasingly gaining a reputation for the quality of its Pinot Noir. Compared to the much more common Marlborough Pinots, its style tends towards darker fruits, and rich flavours, more muscular, textured, with a savoury depth.

This Pinot Noir is made entirely from the estate's own vines, and is aged 12 months in 25% new oak casks. While there's the typical Pinot strawberry fruit, there are also richer darker notes, good weight in the mouth, soft tannins, and great length. It's fresh, clean, nicely balanced and with enough structure to stand up to hearty food.
