100% Saperavi from the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia. Saperavi is a “teinturier” grape, that is, one of the quite rare red skinned grapes which also has red flesh. 
The fruit - grapes, skins, stalks and pips - undergoes indigenous yeast fermentation and maturation in Qvevri, traditional egg shaped clay amphorae buried in the ground, followed by  7 months in oak barrels.
An intense dark ruby wine, its full bodied taste captures cherry, prune, blackberry and black pepper, lively acidity and pronounced tannins combining spectacularly with the fruit.
